Menu Plan 30.07.12

I haven't been as organised this fortnight, I knew I still had quite a bit in the freezer so I would just need a few things in the shopping..... $250 later! But that did include nappies etc!

Anyway, here is a rough idea of what the next fortnight of dinners will consist of...

Monday     Tandoori Chicken (cheated with simmer sauce)
Tuesday     Beef Nachoes
Wednesday  Calzone (using left over beef nacho) and salad
Thursday    Slowcooked Red Wine Beef Casserole
Friday       Minestrone Soup
Saturday    Homemade Burgers
Sunday      Slowcooked Chicken pieces (not sure what marinade just yet)

Monday     Bacon and Kumara Frittata
Tuesday     Pork Meatballs with Spaghetti
Wednesday  Chicken Risotto
Thursday    Risotto Balls with Salad
Friday      Homemade Pizzas
Saturday   Toasties or something easy peazy
Sunday     Creamy Bacon Pasta

Just a Note....

Today, one of the mummas from my June Bugs group gave birth to her 2nd daughter at only 24 weeks gestation. She is a little battler, and will be in the NICU for quite some time. Please send healing and strengthening thoughts to baby Melissa. We June Bugs will be putting together meals, baking and little packages to send up to Mum, Dad and little Big Sister, it will be a tough road ahead but she is in the best possible place now.

Menu Planning

So, I really need to get motivated to be organised again! Miss A is starting school in 4 sleeps! So I bought a book to plan my meals, baking, lunches and grocery lists as well as things to do thru the week. I'm going to list my meals to share with you, one day I will figure out how to do a table! I flicked thru old magazine recipes, my trusty Destitute Gourmet books and Simple Savings for some ideas. Oh and I do my plans and groceries fortnightly!

DINNERS

• Devilled Sausages on Rice with Steamed Vege
• Enchiladas (El Paso kit)
• Homemade Pizzas (beef mince, pineapple, red onion, red capsicum, bacon, cheese, bbq sauce)
• Roast Chicken
• Chicken Soup (from roast carcass, going to be first attempt!)
• Minestrone Soup
• Honey Soy Chicken Pieces with Veges
• Fried Rice w/ Honey Soy Chicken (using extra pieces from above)
• Steak Burgers w/ Beer Battered Onion Rings
• Mac Cheese
• Roast Lamb
• Super Stretcher Sausage Roll - DG recipe
• Red Wine Beef Casserole
• Lamb Shanks (they were on special and will be a special Date dinner!)

LUNCHES/BAKING

• Peanut Butter Cookies (WF)
• Ginger Kisses (WF)
• Afghans (WF)
• Savoury Cheese Muffins
• Fried Rice Salad
• Cheese Scrolls
• Mini Calzone
• Jelly and Fruit cups

I've also got Easiyo sachets to make up, Sultana Bran bites for little snacks and Cheese and Crackers.

Rules for Mothers of Daughters

Found this on Pinterest and it gave me butterflies! I will remember each of these rules, I will give my daughter kisses and let her dress how she wants. I will paint her nails and let her play in the mud. Read more here. 

In 12 days my baby girl will be a school girl, since her 1st school visit and her 5th birthday party she has shown me she is ready for school. I will miss her. So I have started a list of things to do before she starts and I won't be able to keep her home on my days off.

We will

• Have a tea party
• Go out for lunch
• Make a gypsy tent in the lounge and watch movies with all the munchies
• A mini selfshot photo session
